More support for women entrepreneurs. The Government approved the launching of pilot-program “Women in business” during today’s meeting. The document has as objective the offering of financial support and the consulting of women in initiation or development of her own business.
The program is divided in three components and will offer support in various stages of activity of the enterprise, from the launching until its modernization. At the same time, the programs of entrepreneurship education will be diversified and the successful stories of business women will be promoted.
The approved measures support the development of feminine entrepreneurship, which is still considered a new thing in Moldova, and needs an increased attention from authorities. At the same time, the access of women to the financing programs will be facilitated and the initiatives of creating entrepreneurship networks will be supported, especially the businesses with potential oriented through export or the ones introducing innovations.
According to statistical data, women form 51.9% of total of Moldovan population, and the rate of occupation id 36.5%. At the same time, only 27% of total number of women have their own business.
The program is launched initially for a period of 36 months, with the implementation costs of over 51.5 million lei. The necessary financial resources are covered by the project of technical assistance for the implementation of the Thorough and Comprehensive Free-Trade Zone.
The pilot program “Women in business” will be implemented by the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprise Sector.
