The first people suspected to have COVID-19 will arrive on Friday at the sorting center arranged at the Moldexpo complex. Representatives of the authorities carried out on-site inspection along with the US Ambassador to Moldova who donated to the center 25 computers.
Moldova's Minister of Health said that the computer network will provide the information needed to transfer patients.
"The database will have data on patients who are in this center",Minister Viorica Dumbrăveanu said.
The data center is provided by a specialized company from Moldova and the computers come from the UN, World Health Organization and the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova.
"Fighting this virus not only requires doctors and medicines, but also data, and other information," said US Ambassador to Chisinau Dereck J. Hogan.
