USA, Sweden back opening center training IT specialists in Moldova

Prime Minister Pavel Filip has attended the inauguration ceremony of the Tekwill Excellence Center and has said the IT sector is a top priority for Moldova, the Government being open to implement new projects to enhance the competitiveness.

He believes the IT industry may contribute a lot to the country’s development: "We live in the Information Era and must emphasize this sector. The IT industry is the flagman of all the industries: the most money is in here."

However, despite the growing interest but 30% of the graduates of IT faculties find jobs. Pavel Filip is convinced centers as Tekwill will contribute to better train IT specialists as demanded on the market.

He said the Government made progress in getting online as many as possible of its services.

US ambassador James Pettit has said the US Government was enthusiastic to back a project so important to develop Moldova’s competiveness in the IT sector.

Sweden’s ambassador Signe Burgstaller has underscored this country has a good potential to generate IT products and services, and Sweden’s support comes to create new jobs.
