The perspectives of the Moldovan-US strategic dialogue and the developments in the cooperation between the two states were discussed today by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and US Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit. Officials have expressed the conviction that the exchange of high-level visits and the maintenance of permanent communication implies an upward dynamic in Moldovan-American relations.
In the talks, the prime minister referred to the Executive's actions in the implementation of the reform agenda, including through the fulfillment of the conditionality for receiving EU macro-financial assistance. The prime minister noted the determination of the authorities to move forward on the path to European integration, emphasizing the importance of US support, especially on security, justice and the economy.
In his turn, the US Ambassador to Chisinau appreciated the government's efforts in implementing the reforms. James Pettit reconfirmed US support for Moldova's modernization programs.
A special topic of the talks was the Transnistrian settlement process, the officials welcomed the results of the "5 + 2" round of negotiations, recently held in Rome.
