The concession contract for the Chisinau International Airport has been repeatedly challenged in the court by the Public Property Agency. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu on Wednesday, February 12, after the Government meeting.
"The airport must return to the state because it has been concessioned against the interests of the state and with violations of the legislation. I hope that the court will examine in due time that challenge of the legality of the respective contract," said the prime minister.
In his opinion, the state is not able to manage this enterprise, and if the terminal returns to state property, it will be concessioned again.
"If the decision of the court is in favor of the state, we will determine what we do. I maintain the opinion that the state is not the best manager of business assets and a new competition will probably be announced," said Ion Chicu.
