Second round of public debates on uninominal voting bill starts

The second round of the public debates on the draft introducing the constituency voting has started in the Parliament. The issues to be discussed refer to criteria of outlining the constituencies, to representing the overseas Moldovans and the people living on the left bank of the Dniester.

Speaker Andrian Candu: The first item refers to setting up the constituencies. One should also take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission.

PUBLIKA.MD reminder: the process of collecting signatures supporting the introduction of uninominal voting started earlier in March and 530,000 people have already signed, hoping no unknown persons will get to the Parliament, persons with commitments not to political parties but to people.

Last week, over 100 people joined the first round of public debates. They represented state institutions, NGOs and ethnic associations.
