Schools in Moldova will start distance learning in reaction to the coronavirus outbreak. Moldovan developers promise to launch a free online learning platform next week.
"We are developing a platform which will be fully operational as soon as possible. We offer the possibility of uploading video images directly to the program and all teachers will be able to use it. The system will be fully functional by the end of the school year," said the online platform founder, Dmitri Voloşin.
Publika TV tried to find out if the modern technologies can replace completely the schools under the quarantine conditions.
Teachers of the Mihail Koţiubinski high school in Chisinau already introduced the distance learning method and are doing well. The students work with computers instead of notebooks and textbooks.
"This was also the idea of students' parents. Saving time for students is one advantage while lack of communication is one of the disadvantages", Dmitri Voloşin said.
Schools and kindergartens are closed until March 23.
