Prime Minister Pavel Filip has announced on social networks that European Union will offer 36.3 million euro as budget support for Republic of Moldova.
According to Filip, this is yet another confirmation of the Government's determination to implement all obligations agreed upon with development partners.
"This is good news for citizens of Republic of Moldova, after the 22.2 millions offered yesterday by IMF, today EU announced its intention to provide 36.3 million euro as budget support for our country. It is yet another important confirmation of the determination to implement all obligations agreed with development partners. The Government remains firm on continuing to implement reforms and gain positive results for Republic of Moldova's citizens" Prime Minister wrote.
A press statement released by the European Intuition mentioned that the main objectives of the support offered for Republic of Moldova are "more jobs, growing exports to the EU, improved public administration, better police services and accelerated rural development
The Moldovan authorities have agreed to use these funds to support five areas: the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between the EU and the Republic of Moldova, the Police Reform, Public Finance Policy Reforms, the Implementation of the Visa Liberalization with Europe, the Agriculture and Rural Development in the Republic of Moldova (ENPARD)" wrote the press statement of EU.
