Prime-minister Pavel Filip has assembled yesterday night an emergency meeting with chiefs of institutions involved in solving the plane crash from Cantemir, resulting with the death of four members of SMURD team: the pilot, co-pilot, doctor and paramedic.
The premier has presented his condolences from his name and in name of Government to families of the victims, expressing his gratitude for the heroes’ sacrifices given in their mission of saving lives.
"You should know that here, in Republic of Moldova, we appreciate the work of these people and we are grateful for their support in saving patients’ lives. Their work was one of sacrifice, a work of true heroes. Now we are duty to find out the cause of the accident, and this will be the proof of our respect towards those who fulfilled their noble mission of saviors with courage and commitment" said Pavel Filip.
The prime-minister has pointed out that the investigation of the plane crash must be very detailed and objective.
"At this stage there is a very good communication between the institutions involved in solving the cause of the accident and we will do everything in order to have a result as soon as possible. First of all, it is a moral duty and a sign of respect for the victims of the accident to bring light in this case" has declared the premier.
The ambassador of Romania in Chisinau, Marius Lazurca, gave his thanks to Moldovan authorities for the attention directed to the investigation of this this tragic accident, mentioning two common objectives: heroes’ remigration and ensuring all the conditions for the investigation. For this purpose, was agreed the creation of a joint investigating committee.
The Romanian ambassador has appreciated the speediness and good manner the institutions have been conscripted and showed his gratitude to Premier.
At the end of the meeting, Pavel Filip has reaffirmed that the help given by SMURD Romania to our country is very important and needed. The premier has reminded that yesterday’s tragic intervention of SMURD was the 20th rescuing mission on the territory of Republic of Moldova.
