On the occasion of marking 25 years since the start of the Dniester military conflict, Prime Minister Pavel Filip has laid wreaths at the Maica Îndurerată monument from the Eternitate Memorial in Chisinau.
He has also attended the meeting commemorating the heroes fallen in the battle on the Dniester, held in Varnița village.
"This day must be of national union. We must forget the differences separating us to remember the things linking us and making us a society. These are the wish to live in freedom, in an independent and democratic country.
We have the duty not to forget the deeds of courage performed by all those who defended the country at a difficult moment," Pavel Filip said.
He has assured the Cabinet will make further efforts to insure better living conditions to the veterans.
