Premier Pavel Filip has asked the Ministry of Health to take all necessary measures to prevent the enlargement of the measles outbreak and to identify the persons responsible for the outbreak.

"Today, we have asked the Ministry of Health to take all necessary measures not to allow the enlargement of the measles outbreak involving 20 children. We also requested that the law enforcement bodies be investigated to investigate the circumstances of the outbreak, but also to determine who is guilty of this. Our children's health is above all", writes Premier Pavel Filip in a Facebook post.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that 17 cases were confirmed in Gagauzia. All patients are children between seven and 15 year old, from Beşghioz, Copceac and Cazaclia. The information was confirmed by the head of the Ceadâr-Lunga Public Health Center, Ivan Hasta.

Of the 17 patients, only one child was vaccinated against the virus and was infected in an easier way.

The other minors were not immunized for religious reasons.

According to preliminary information, children became infected after visiting some of their relatives in the city of Bolgrad, Ukraine. Even if on the return of a little girl accuse some symptoms, the parents did not address the doctors.

Subsequently, all the children went to rest at a religious camp in the village of Merenii Noi in Ungheni district.

There, the representatives of the Health Center confirmed three other cases of measles. In total, the number of infected children reached 20.

Rujeola is an extremely contagious disease with serious consequences, but can only be prevented by vaccination.

Since the beginning of this year, over 20 cases of measles have been confirmed. That, after three years, no illness was recorded in Moldova. Specialists claim that most patients are children who have infected in Ukraine.

According to statistics, the virus is spreading to neighboring countries as well. In Ukraine, only 1,300 people have become ill in a week, and nearly 19,000 cases have been recorded since the beginning of the year.

And in Romania there were almost 14,000 cases of illnesses and 55 deaths.
