Pănăşeşti village citizens celebrated the day dedicated to their village. Yesterday, locals also celebrated the "Assumption of virgin Mary".
People partied all day. Housewives were cooking delicious food with the wine.
The holiday atmosphere was maintained by local performers.
The celebration was a good opportunity to meet relatives. People were caught in dances and each had a glass of wine.
On the day of their village the kids had more fun.
Pănăşeşti village citizens are proud of their town.
Locals were congratulated by the president and the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, who came to the feast.
"It's a blessed village, a village of history with hardworking people. I've been in previous years in this area, and I thought it will be of great pleasure to be along these people here" , said Democratic Party of Moldova president Marian Lupu.
"Our village is remarkable through people. We have great people in the Government, Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, who is from our village. We have outstanding people in sports" , said Pănăşeşti village Mayor Valeriu Bujoreanu.
Pănăşeşti village was attested six centuries ago during the reign of Alexandru cel Bun. Once the town was named Voloseni.
