The number of women in police will increase significantly over the next three years. Female employees will be a quarter of the total employees of the General Inspectorate of Police. The statement was made by the Deputy Interior Minister Dorin Purice at a press conference where the development strategy for 20126-2020 was discussed.
Currently, over 12 per-cent of employees of IGP are women.
Also, more cars will be brought, in order to facilitate the transportation of prisoners.
The development strategy of police reform also provides the reform of the carabinieri troops, implementing the concept of community policing, and combating corruption.
The reform budget is 57.2 million euros, provided by the European Union and 200,000 lei allocated by the Ministry of Finance.
