Norway donates Moldova high-performance equipment to test patients' sight

The Chisinau Clinical Republican Hospital received a tomograph and a laser from the Norwegian Government. Now the diagnosis will be set more precisely and rapidly.

The laser will be used to treat short-sightedness and complications because of the high blood sugar diabetes.

Over 40,000 Moldovans having this disease have sight problems, presently.

"I consider this donation very important, as a large number of patients can be treated with these devices and they may not get blind," said Hans Bjorn Bakketeig a representative of the Norwegian government.

The two devices cost over 1.5 million lei. ($1=MDL20)
