24 Moldovans want to fight for the top job in Moldova. The Election Authority (CEC) has ended the process of receiving files to register initiative groups which collect signatures supporting the candidates. Three potential candidates have already submitted the lists with the signatures.
The CEC has already registered 16 initiative groups, as three independent hopefuls and two parties have asked for subscription lists.
After lodging over 20,000 supportive signatures to the CEC, the Popular European Party leader Iurie Leanca has stated his priorities are reforming the judiciary and promoting the European course.
The lists with signatures had earlier been submitted by Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu and Democratic leader Marian Lupu.
