National Bank: Remittances to Moldova decreased in 2019

In January - December 2019, the total remittances to Moldova amounted to US $ 1222.89 million, 3.5% less than in the same period of the previous year, shows the data of the National Bank.

According to the data, most of the money was transferred in July - $ 115 million, and the least in January - 86 million.

The data also show that in December 2019, money transferred reached 108.03 million dollars, an increase by 12.1% compared to December 2018.

According to the geographical origin, the transfers in favor of individuals come from the following three areas:

from the EU - 46.3 percent

from CIS - 21.4 percent

from the rest of the world - 32.3 percent.

Russia: 20.3 percent (USD 21.93 million); Israel - 19.2 percent ($ 20.74 million), Italy - 12.1 percent ($ 13.12 million),), USA - 8.0 percent (8 , $ 60 million), United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 7.5 percent ($ 8.10 million), Germany - 7.0 percent ($ 7.57 million), France - 5 , 6 percent ($ 6.05 million), Ireland - 1.7 percent ($ 1.80 million), Romania - 1.6 percent ($ 1.76 million), Spain - 1.5 percent ($ 1.65 million), Portugal - 1.4 percent ($ 1.52 million), Czech Republic - 1.1 percent ($ 1.16 million), Poland - 1.0 percent ($ 1.04 million), Turkey - 0.9 percent ($ 1.01 million), from other states - 11.1 percent ($ 11.98 million).
