At least five Romanian companies are interested in investing millions of lei in Moldova. The announcement was made at the "Excelenţă în business" ("Business Excellence") forum, that was attended by Minister of Economy Chiril Gaburici and his Romanian counterpart Minister Dănuţ Andruşcă, as well as dozens of entrepreneurs from Moldova and Romania, who are looking for partnerships.
Romanian businessmen claim that the business environment from Moldova offers many opportunities.
"We are glad to see that there is political will and we hope to gain positive results and establish some contacts, then return to invest" representative of a Romanian IT company, Ciprian Baraga declared.
The forum was also attended by entrepreneurs who wish to develop their business abroad.
"It is a good opportunity to develop our business in EU, beginning from Romania" representative of a textile company, Maria Pleşca declared.
Multiple companies have already begun negotiating with authorities to expand their business.
"We are speaking of opening new jobs, of intentions" president of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Constantin Vieru said.
At the moment, there are around 1 700 companies in Republic of Moldova with Romanian capital, investments reaching over 1.2 billion lei.
"It is very important for Romanian companies to continue their activity, to be present in the free economic zones, in industrial parks, in IT parks. I wish to use this chance and encourage Romanian companies to participate at the privatization procedure from Republic of Moldova" Minister of Economy, Chiril Gaburici declared.
"Increasing the capital and investments on both banks of Prut is a common aim. The Government of Romania and Republic of Moldova wish to strengthen economic collaboration" Romanian Minister of Economy, Dănuţ Andruşca announced.
Last year, trade between Moldova and Romania was of over 1.7 billion USD.
