The National Youth Football team of the Republic of Moldova was defeated by the Croatia team in the preliminaries of the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Last night the "tricolori" team's match ended on their home field with the score of 0-3.
Ante Ciorici managed the first score during the fist 4 minute of the game, who managed the goal after a pass from Alen Halilovic, former opponent of FC Barcelona and Hamburger SV.
Croatian scored the second time through their German striker, Josip Brekalo.
The final goal was made by Acelaşi Brekalo, after overtaking a pass from the team's captain Alen Halilovic.
Alexandru Boiciuc and Andrei Macriţchi from "tricolori", despite having a few chances to score have missed them.
"There were some moments when they simply wiped the floor with us. The opponents managed to score, due to some mistakes we made, but we will start working on those issues. Hopefully those matter will be solve, yet it is no big deal whether we win or lose" a Moldovan player from Under-21, Dănuţ Oprea said.
"I wish to congratulate Moldova on this beautiful match. They played aggressive, yet our team was simply better this time around" a Croatian player from Under-21, Nenad Gracan declared.
It is the first defeat our National Youth team suffered in the preliminaries. Their next match will take place on 4th September in Athens, against Greece.
