Over 250,000 Moldovans, illegally staying in Russia, may legalize their being there. The announcement was made by President Igor Dodon, according to whom, the Russian authorities had applied a migration amnesty.
Other 17,500 Moldovans, who were deported for breaking law, will be able to return to Russia.
The Moldovans exceeding the legal term of staying may go to offices of the Russian migration service to legalize their stay, till March 20.
Referring to the Russian restriction of Moldovan wineries’ exports, President Igor Dodon has said several companies have been okayed export wine.
"Most of those 13 wineries checked by the Roselkhoznadzor experts will be accepted. Next week a decision is to be taken," he said.
The President also says Russian quality experts will check Moldovan food producers in order to consider whether they may start exporting fruit and vegetables to Russia.
