Moldovans commemorate 127 years from death of greatest Romanian Romantic poet

On June 15, 1889, the Morning Star of the Romanian poetry, Mihai Eminescu, passed away.

Born Mihail Eminovici, the poet is considered the most important representative of the Romanian Romanticism.

Mihai Eminescu died, as his malaise became more violent and was buried under the so-called ‘sacred linden tree’ in Bucharest’s Bellu cemetery.

Cultural manifestations dedicated to this event are expected to take place all over the country.
