The Ministry of Education has announced the end of the 2019-2020 academic year. Minister Igor Şarov stated in a press conference that he would sign today the order to complete the 2019-2020 school year.
Besides, the admission for 5th and 10th classes will be based on grade point average.
"There will be no theses this year. Students will continue online learning according to the methodology", explained the Minister of Education.
The final decision on taking the baccalaureate exams will be taken by May 15.
"A final decision will be announced on May 15, so that this year students can complete their studies and have their diplomas recognized nationally and internationally," Șarov said.
Minister of Education also announces that the traditional festivities will not take place at the end of the academic year either.
Decisions will be made jointly with local public authorities regarding the reopening of kindergartens.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education announced the schedule for enrolling children in the first grade:
"All children enroll in the first grade in accordance with the provisions of the Education Code. The first stage: May 21-June 19, the second stage: June 22-July 31. Registration will be done online as well as directly at the institution's headquarters. The medical certificate will not be mandatory, but the parents will sign a declaration on their own responsibility".
Șarov also said that the Ministry of Education is coming up with a new offer on optional classes for high school students.
"The following optional classes will be introduced: driving; a guide for Moldova; several IT professions: artificial intelligence; graphic design; volunteering for education, security introduction ".
