Iurie Leanca remains in the presidential race. The announcement was made by the leader of PPEM party at a press conference.
"Dear Moldovans, I have entered this presidential race from the desire to share knowledge in the job. We have accumulated extensive experience in the diplomatic field. We have achieved concrete things for our country. All achievements are living proof that I did concrete things for Moldovan citizens. No one and nothing can erase what we have done for our country. Our country must continue its European path. The main enemy is Igor Dodon. His propaganda is poisonous for our country. It has a huge danger for our country. Voters are not robots pushed to vote and being told who to vote for. Dodon benefits from a very loyal electorate and there is a risk that he would win the first round. I'm staying in the election race, and I urge everybody to build together a Moldova without bitterness. We back a strong team and together we can do good things for the country" , said PPEM party candidate for president, Iurie Leanca.
However, the PPEM leader also stressed the reason he decided to remain in the electoral race.
"The irrational reaction of Maia Sandu made me realize that the risk of Dodon acceding in the first round is very high. She refused 13-per-cent of the electorate. As a politician, I can not reject people's votes. Maia Sandu has sent those 13-per-cent voters straight into the arms of Igor Dodon" , said PPEM leader.
