In the first trimester of 2018, Republic of Moldova imported goods worth 1 billion 326 million USD, by 29% more than in a similar period from 2017.
Most goods came from European Union (48.5%), worth over 640 million USD, by 31% more than in a similar period last year.
Import from CIS states also rose by 22.5%. Goods worth over 330 million USD being brought to Moldova.
Most import growth were registered from: Japan (+210%), Israel (+190%), Latvia (+170%), Sweden (+51%), Poland (over 50%) and China with an over 40% increase.
Among the most popular items were cars and transport equipment - 22.5%, while manufactured goods take 19.3% and fuel - 17%. The list is followed by food and living animals, with 14% and 11%.
