The fines for preparing and selling food products in schools and kindergartens could double. The penalties could increase for four times for persons violating the health standards in restaurants. The project has been registered in parliament. The maximum fine reaches 1,300 lei.
The purpose of the project claims it aims to detect the irregularities detected lately in kindergartens and schools.
Parents claim the penalties should be tougher.
The project also refers to traders selling food on the roadside, in unsanitary conditions. Moldovans fear buying such products.
Currently, the fine for violation of sanitary norms in public places, but also for selling food is starting with 300 lei to 600 lei.
The project must be approved by Parliament.
