The cars with foreign number plates, including the ones older than 10 years, may be registered in Moldova against a 70-per-cent cut from excise. The bonus is valid for the owners having brought cars into Moldova till November 1.
The Government’s ruling is yet to be endorsed by the Parliament. Owners and drivers of cars with foreign plate numbers welcome the news.
As for the cars registered in the Transnistrian area, the owners living on the right bank of the Nistru will have to register their vehicles or face fines of up to $75/
The Moldovans failing to register their cars will be allowed to stay in the country six months, then the police will escort them abroad and make them pay for the service.
