Farmers could benefit from the subsidy of the agricultural insurance premium in the proportion of 70% and not 50% as it is now. A bill in this regard has been approved by the Government and will reach the table of MPs.
According to the document presented, farmers will be able to ensure not only the quantity of agricultural crops, but also the quality of production. The subsidy could be applied in case of drought, hail, frost and floods.
The budget needed to cover the subsidized share of insurance premiums for 2021 is estimated at about 3.5 million lei, and for 2022 4.1 million will be needed.
The subsidy will be covered by the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment.
