A criminal gang specialized in human trafficking has been unveiled.
Six people, 22-47, including their leader, have been arrested. The suspects come from the northern district of Floreşti.
The gang has been active since 2011, specializing in enslaving poor Moldovans and sending them to work in Russia. The number of the trafficked reaches 100.
The victims were deprived of their ID documents and forced to perform agricultural works without being paid off.
The police have also searched the suspects’ houses. If they are found guilty, they face jail terms from 7 to 20 years.
