A new drug will be used to treat COVID-19 patients in Moldova. The Medicines Agency announces the start of a new clinical study at the "Toma Ciorbă" Infectious Diseases Hospital in the Capital.
The name of the antiviral drug has not been announced, but is only given to patients with moderate to severe severity. The study is being conducted simultaneously in 35 hospitals in the European Union and the United States. The initiators are Americans, and the manufacturers of the drug, two pharmaceutical companies from Germany. Asked by Publika TV, the head of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Sergiu Vasiliţă, stated that he did not know details. Two studies on patients diagnosed with COVID-19 are underway at the Republican Hospital in Chisinau to test the effectiveness of two other new drugs. According to the Medicines Agency, eligible people are informed about the preparations they are taking and decide for themselves whether to accept them.
