300 kindergartens and 250 schools failed to meet alimentary requirements

Alimentary block in over 300 kindergartens and over 250 schools in Moldova do not meet the regulation.

This conclusion was reached by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) after thorough checks during August - September.

The main problems encountered by the specialists are the lack of ventilation system, utensils and used equipment as well as lack of staff.

Moreover, some institutions are not equipped with stoves and fridges. ANSA data show that eight kindergartens in Leova and one in Nisporeni are not connected to the aqueduct and sewage.

Additionally, several schools and kindergartens from the districts of Briceni, Basarabeasca, Anenii Noi and Râşcani started the school year without repair.

However, ANSA experts say the situation is better than in 2016.

There were 923 kindergartens meeting the requirements among from 1200 institutions checked, 190 cases more than last year.

The situation was even more positive in schools.
