Public authorities decided that students aged over 10 must wear facial masks in classrooms and during break time. At the Chisinau City Hall meeting, Mayor Ion Ceban urged the parents to comply with the rules in order to tackle the pandemic.
"Statistics say that the risk of illness in children occurs from the age of 10 years. Let's see how things go", said Ion Ceban.
However, some parents are against these rules and believe that the mask worn continuously is more to the detriment of children.
"If there are 15 children and they maintain distance between everyone, what kind of mask? They put on masks when they go out".
"It's not normal for children to wear a mask because it's dangerous for them."
Others support these ideas and are ready to comply with all the rules for the good of their children.
"Indeed, now in this pandemic, the rules must meet the requirements that are given. This pandemic spares neither the elderly nor the young."
The mandatory measure to wear a mask during classes has already entered into force, and the director of the "Durlești" gymnasium, Tatiana Anghelenici, says that the students are understanding and comply with the new rules.
"Only through discussions and conversations can we convince the children who will create some deviations in this regard."
The decision to wear masks permanently targets students and pupils in vocational schools or colleges.
