The projects of connecting Moldova to Romania’s electricity and gas delivering systems take momentum. The Economy Ministers from Chisinau and Bucharest made such statements at a meeting in the Romanian city of Ploieşti.
Romanian Economy Minister Mihai Tudose says Romania will assume the costs of projecting the power line Isaccea-Vulcăneşti-Chişinău.
The project budget is EUR200 mn. Earlier Moldova’s Economy Minister Octavian Calmîc said the line could be ready by 2019, as the EBRD is ready to offer a loan of EUR60 mn.
As for building the gas pipe from Ungheni to Chişinău, after the EU boosted its support, the works advance even faster.
The EBRD and the EIB will offer loans of EUR41 mn each, while the EU – a grant of EUR40 mn.
