Pavel Filip: Moldova will insist on unconditional retreat of Russian troops from the Dniester’s left bank

Moldova is going to make consistent efforts for the unconditional withdrawal of the Russian troops from the Transnistrian area, Prime Minister Pavel Filip told Ukrinform news agency.

Pavel Filip has underscored Moldova will further insist on transforming the peace-keeping taskforce on the Dniester to a civil mission under an international mandate.

The Premier has said having foreign troops on Moldova’s territory runs counter its Constitution: "Pivotal is the Agreement on retreating the Russian troops from Moldova, signed at the OSCE summit back in 1999 in Istanbul. It has not been carried out up to present."

The Prime Minister is going to Kyiv on Feb. 13 to discuss bilateral trade and the Transistrian issue.
