Moldovans tidy up broken branches, following Prime Minister’s call (PHOTO)

Moldovan military, law-enforcers and citizens work hard today to cleanse the branches broken by a harsh blizzard on April 21.

Yesterday, the country’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip invited everybody to what he called a ‘general mobilization’ to clean up the country, which has been staying covered in branches for almost a week.

The works started early in the morning and are supposed to end by 10 p.m.

Drivers have been asked to abstain from using their cars and keep them away not to hinder the cleansing works.

Chisinau’s city hall assesses the damages caused by the calamity at 70 million lei ($3.5 mn.)
