Moldovan boxers won 5 medals at World Mauy Thai Championship in Bangkok

Moldovan muay-thai fighters have won 5 medals at the World Championship in Bangkok.

Igor Duca and Liviu Titică won the gold in their weight categories. The Thai competition gathered 768 athletes.

"My career is a very good result." He worked hard for this result. "I hope it's not the last one," said muay-thai fighter Liviu Titică.

"It has been quite difficult for me, I have prepared a great deal for this competition, this medal has great significance for me. I really can not believe I conquered it," said Muay-thai fighter, Igor Duca .

"They are the first Moldovans to defeat the Thai at muay thai. It's unbelievable!" said coach Andrei Grosu.

Marius Covali, Gheorghe Pleşca and David Chiperi took the silver medals. The latter became the winner of the "Rising Star" award for spectacular fights.

"I think we got this trophy because I wanted to become a champion. The organizers have noticed this and appreciated me," said muay-thai fighter David Chiperi.

"I am very pleased to be surprised when five out of six fighters returned with medals. Two gold medals - are beyond my expectations," said Muay Thai president FM Artur Grosu.

In the Team Ranking, Moldova ranks 7th. Following the evolution of the World Cup in Thailand, athletes were awarded the FEA Association that organizes K-1 and MMA tournaments, but also promotes fighters.
