To oppose the initiative of withdrawal of the mandate of deputy, Maia Sandu, Andrei Năstase and Viorel Cibotaru signed a document with the communist Vladimir Voronin and with the fugitive felon Renato Usatîi.
In the evening of 6 April, in the eve of the commemorative date of the events of 7 April 2009 the leaders PAS, PDA, PLDM, PCRM and PN signed this document. Declare themselves against the citizens’ right to withdraw the deputies’ mandate through referendum according to the document.
They consider that this is a soviet practice and limits the deputies’ independence. They also affirm that uninominal voting represents for the Parliament a risk that the women be not sufficiently represented in the future Parliament.
They also mention in the document that the law roject regarding the uninominal electoral system lacks a clear mechanism of representation of citizens from the transdniestrian region in the Parliament.
